The Lusithand F1 Studio Filter Preamp takes the filter-based tone shaping found in Lusithand's NFP preamps and puts it into a pedal that can be used with virtually any bass or guitar. Instead of a conventional bass, mid, and treble EQ, the F1 uses two independent resonant filters that let you sweep through the frequency range and shape the character of the instrument in a much more focused way.
The two filters work differently. The left side sweeps from 50 Hz to 6 kHz and can operate as either a low-pass or high-pass filter, while the right side covers 120 Hz to 4 kHz with low-pass or band-pass operation. Each has its own resonance control, and the PAN control blends the two filters together before the master volume. That makes the F1 useful for everything from subtle frequency shaping and tightening up a bass in the studio to more pronounced resonant, vocal, and synth-like filter sounds. The internal voltage doubler provides up to 36V of internal headroom when powered at 18V, helping the pedal handle hotter bass signals without unwanted clipping.
