Dirty Haggard Audio Arachnid | Octave Fuzz

$135.00

The Dirty Haggard Audio Arachnid is an octave fuzz based on the classic Fender Blender, but with some significant changes to make it more useful in a modern rig. The tone circuit has been reworked for a more usable range, and the tone control has been eliminated because the original circuit's sweep could get extremely dark. The input response was also redesigned to preserve the low end of the clean signal, making the Arachnid a particularly interesting choice for bass players.

The clipping section combines a NOS germanium diode with a 1N4148 diode, creating an asymmetrical clipping response with plenty of harmonic character. At lower gain settings, the Arachnid can deliver rich, highly usable fuzz tones, while pushing the gain takes it into much more extreme and chaotic territory.

Another nice touch is how quiet the pedal is when you're not playing. The Arachnid stays quiet between notes but comes alive as soon as you hit the strings. For players looking for an octave fuzz with vintage inspiration, modernized low-end response, and plenty of nasty character, the Arachnid is a very cool take on a classic circuit.
